The big one is almost here you guys. The big one being the annual auction to be held at Tulare Western in July. I refer to this as the big one because it is one of the best attended, most interesting, most amusing and most important meetings of the entire year. Why so important? Because it generates between 30 and 50% of our entire annual budget. That makes it big in my book.
Do any of you like to set goals? I love to set goals. I think it is exciting to challenge myself and others by setting reasonable and obtainable goals, especially when those goals are designed for the benefit of a worthy aspiration that is not for my own benefit. So what might I be thinking of as a goal for this auction? Let’s say that we generate sales of $5,000! Oh, you are wondering what happened to reasonable and obtainable? Well let’s think about that. We have about 100 members. That would be $50 each. Does that sound better? Very attainable in my way of thinking. Can I count on each of you to help me out with this? $50 dollars is $1 per week, does that make it sound easier? Is it worth an extra dollar a week to continue to develop your club into what you want it to be? The next move is yours and can you believe it that for your $50 contribution you will actually end up with some new treasures to haul home and be entertained by that crazy pair of auctioneers. This is great stuff! Bring a friend and your checkbook folks. See you there.
